When we look at food today, it is crowded with additives, flavourants, and preservatives. The nutritional value of everyday meals has thinned to the point that people struggle to get the basics they need to stay well and to function. Maxwell was founded to put something better on that table — natural products that do not ask you to compromise.
Maxwell Natra (Pty) Ltd was established in early 2019 to develop and produce natural food and complementary products. Directors Andrew Tully and Gavin Stassen built the first Maxwell Pack from a formulation Andrew developed using only natural raw materials. The range has grown from that pack: health meals, rice meals, a wellness shot, daily botanicals, vitamins, and water drops.
Raw materials are sourced from organic farmers and suppliers who practise sustainable farming and share the same vision. The company line is unchanged: all natural, healthy, nutritious, pure, wholesome, fulfilling, and complete.
Andrew Tully
Product developer · procurement
The Tully family established Impilo Drug Company in 1966. Andrew was sales and marketing director there, supplying pharmacy chains and groups including Adcock Ingram, Aspen, and Dis-Chem. He works in traditional African medicines and complementary raw materials, and developed the full Maxwell range. Founder of Colhoy Trading; director of Maxwell Natra.
Gavin Stassen
Business · operations
Healthcare facilities developer since 1989, including work alongside Dr Jack Shevel of the Netcare group. He has built and operated private hospitals and day clinics across South Africa. Director of Maxwell Natra, with a background in licensed medical insurance and facility operations.
Relationships
- Rotary. Maxwell worked with Rotary nutritional specialists on On the Go 20 and donated tens of thousands of meals to communities and schools during Covid-19.
- West Africa. A distribution agreement with Ecosystem Capital, the financial holding company for the ADS Group, to supply food into West African markets.
- Manufacturing. Separate accredited plants for food and for tablet and liquid production — consumer pouches through 20 kg bags, and programme-scale throughput.
